Since joining the ‘Make Childcare Work’ Campaign with Save the Children a year ago and launching this Petition in October 2018, with your support we are achieving small but significant wins all the time! Not even the never ending Brexit negotiations can dampen our enthusiasm and fight as the ‘Mums On A Mission’, including our new recruits from our Manchester Campaign Day, headed back to Parliament for an evidence session and Lobbying Day.

As always, the mums made headlines, particularly for the evidence given for the inquiry into school holiday poverty, as most funding for childcare covers term time only.

Having lobbied our various local MP’s it was on to a Roundtable with MPs to discuss solutions to making childcare work. My personal highlight was delivering this petition to No.10 Downing Street, alongside the original ‘Mums On A Mission’, Lucy Collins, Gaynor Rowles and Vikki Waterman. We were joined by Save the Children’s Maddy and Katie and supported by the wonderful team at Change.Org who provided us with our special petition boxes with all your signatures. 

Whilst we may not have got invited inside for a cuppa, we were assured that the PM would receive our petition.
