The Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs today announced that they would no longer permit the export of endangered elvers to Russia. This is a significant victory for conservationists. Maybe now elvers can be fished on the Severn for genuine conservation projects in the UK, and we can set about restoring our rivers and wetlands. Thank you to everyone for signing and helping to make this happen. Condolences to those  few people whose jobs may now be at risk.
