When you buy a flat and sign the sale deed you think you are the owner.....hahahahahahaha all builders are laughing at you. There are many for legal steps that needs to be done including society formation and land ownership.
I am another a innocent fool flat owner just like you. I and other buildings flat owners have been caught up in the confusion and legal entanglements caused by contradictory laws of the “Maharashtra Apartment Ownership Act, 1972 (MAO Act)”, and the “Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960”, intended for the management of apartment buildings. This dual laws has led to the exploitation of flat buyers like me and you, not just by builders but also by various judicial and governmental agencies. Everyone is making money and we flat buyers is paying for justice.
We want the Maharashtra Government to Scrape MAO Act, which leads to the builder owning the land, terrace, fsi, club house and making changes to the building layout. We want a strong Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960 - a single law to manage apartments.
