Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou was a 39-year-old Kurdish political prisoner and father of three from Iran. He was accused of ties to the PKK and sentenced to death, despite evidence proving he was in Turkey at the time of the alleged crime.

His 10-year-old daughter, Ronahi, showed extraordinary courage in trying to save him. She publicly pleaded for his life and revealed that security forces had tried to force her to make false statements against her father, threatening to kill him if she didn’t comply. She refused. Ronahi and her family held a sit-in outside Urmia Central Prison, demanding justice. Though their protest delayed the execution, Hamid was secretly executed on April 20, 2025.

Ronahi, just 10 years old, stood up to the regime and refused to be silent—even when her father's life was on the line. Her courage is a powerful reminder that silence helps injustice thrive. We must not look away. It’s time for all of us to raise our voices, demand justice, and stand against executions in Iran.
