Our initial efforts to seek noise solutions for residents living in Loudoun County's Airport Impact Overlay District have paid off. While ultimately the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) still has to approve any noise reduction solutions, what we were able to do was demonstrate that the community has a strong interest in reducing aviation noise and persuade Loudoun County to approve funding for an aviation consultant to study the current flight paths and model proposed solutions. These solutions will be evaluated and approved by a community design group that the county will establish later this year, then go to a regional project group for affirmation, and then ultimately be submitted to the FAA.
This petition galvanized this action and we are grateful for everyone's support.
