After the FAA requested an additional step to Loudoun County's IAD (Dulles Airport) Noise Impacts Project last year, the County is now moving forward with this project later this year. This project will seek ways to reduce aviation noise for Loudoun neighborhoods near IAD's Runway 30.

Earlier this year, Supervisor Laura TeKrony, the Little River District Supervisor on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, applauded the community effort to seek a solution: "I think the community has done an amazing job, with the professionalism and the expertise and the knowledge of aviation and the FAA. I don't think we'd be here without them, without the community." Supervisor Michael Turner, the Ashburn District Supervisor, chimed in with his appreciation: "We really would not be here without the work that you've done. We really do appreciate it." Chair Phyllis Randall said the effort has been "phenomenal." She added: "It is because of the continued, focused, respectful, really well-researched community input that we are here right now."

So thanks to each of you who signed our petition, came to meetings, wrote emails and let our local leadership know that the community needed to be engaged in seeking solutions for the aviation noise above us.
