No Car Wash!

Replacing the old Tim Hortons with an El Car Wash will greatly decrease the quality of life in the Wilson Park neighborhood of Ferndale and potentially Ferndale in general.

Here are some of our concerns:

• Greatly increased traffic along College St., University St., and the alley in between.
• Loud, high-pitched noise from vacuum cleaners.
• Pollution from the detergents and other chemicals that will be stored on-site and eventually drain into our sewers.
• It will make the area less walkable and separate the neighborhood from the downtown area. 
• The size of the facility, the garish color, and the bright lights aren't a good fit with the rest of the neighborhood (see rendering above).
• Property values will drop due to the issues above.

We do not want a car wash, and we urge our mayor and city council to vote against it.
