Stop Egypt’s forced expulsion of Sudanese refugees

Stop Egypt’s forced expulsion of Sudanese refugees
Le problème
I am Sudanese, and the violent and devastating war that has raged in Sudan for over a year has forced many of my loved ones - family members, friends, neighbors - to flee to neighboring countries, including Egypt. The horror of imagining them forced to return to Sudan, to face death, hunger, fear and all kinds of consequences of war is unbearable. However, according to Amnesty International, the Egyptian government forcibly expelled 800 Sudanese detainees in the first three months of this year. These evictions are carried out by EU-funded security forces—a fact that makes every European citizen complicit in this cruel practice. We respectfully, but insistently, demand that Egypt put an end to these forced evictions and respect international law. We also call on the European Union to intervene and stop the financing of these illegal practices. Each forced eviction is another blow to the dignity of every Sudanese man, woman and child who simply seeks to escape the chaos of war. Join us in this demand by signing this petition.
