The Issue

Kiran Kaur was sentenced to 36 months in a UK prison for her involvement in a serious crime, but she is being considered for early release after serving just 12 months of her sentence. This development is a deeply personal blow for our family, who has already suffered immensely due to her actions.

Just like countless other law-abiding citizens, we believed that justice would prevail and that the punishment would fit the crime. We put our trust in the legal system, hoping it would afford us peace and closure. Early release in this case undermines justice and dismisses the gravity of the offence committed by Kaur, diminishing the suffering of the victims and their families.

The crime for which she was convicted disrupted lives and caused significant trauma to all involved. The impact is lasting; it doesn't just end after a year or two. The victims and their families continue to endure sleepless nights. The thought that she might return to normalcy so soon, without serving her full sentence, is intimidating and doesn’t foster the trust we desperately need in the judicial system.

Moreover, upon completion of her sentence, we call for Kaur’s deportation. It is a standard procedure for non-citizens convicted of serious crimes to be deported upon release, ensuring the safety of citizens and upholding justice. Failing to do so questions the robustness of policies intended to protect residents of the UK from individuals who have demonstrated a willingness to harm.

Kaur’s situation is a matter of public concern and the consequences of inaction could set a worrying precedent that convicts could evade due justice through early release. This is not just about our personal anguish but about maintaining the integrity of our legal system and ensuring community safety.

Therefore, we urge the decision-makers to reconsider any plans for Kiran Kaur's early release, to ensure that justice is served in its entirety, and to initiate deportation proceedings upon her eventual release. It is crucial that victims and the general public feel reassured and protected. Let’s stand together to uphold the principles of a fair judicial process.

Please sign this petition to demand that justice is respected, and the victims' suffering is acknowledged by enforcing Kiran Kaur’s full sentence and subsequent deportation.
