Neighbors,
We need you in the room tomorrow. This is the most important meeting yet in the fight against Owens Glen.
📅 Tuesday, November 18, 2025
🕓 5:45 PM
📍 Committee Meeting Room
301 University Ridge
Greenville, SC 29601
Here’s what’s happening:
County Council has heard our concerns, seen our petition, and—because of all of you—Councilman Rick Bradley is making a motion to send the 2024 Owens Glen plan back to the Planning Commission for reconsideration.
This is HUGE.
AND It is rare.
The County could be sued for doing this, but we want the County to know it is worth it to for us, THE PEOPLE - that Planning Commission deserves the chance to correct what happened in 2024 for US. We need ALL of County Council to vote YES tomorrow night - that they believe Owens Glen should be sent back to Planning Commission.
Under Planning Commission bylaws, they are allowed to reconsider any review if County Council requests it.
And Owens Glen needs to be reconsidered because:
It was wrongfully approved in 2024
It does not comply with the Comprehensive Plan
It does not comply with the Piedmont Area Plan
The roads in this area are far too dangerous to handle the traffic the subdivision would create - don't forget that Flat Rock Road is only 15' wide!
Almost 1,000 people have signed our petition. You’ve shown your support online—now we need you to show up in person.
This is our best opportunity yet to stop this subdivision for good and protect our rural area. And it sets the tone for all future developments to follow the rules, the plans, and the law.
Please make every effort to be there.
Bring a friend, a neighbor, or a family member.
Let’s fill that room and make sure our voices are heard.
