Judge denies Dollar General suit

Judge Abels lawfully and fairly ruled in our favor. The Parish Council has a right to deny projects, especially given the immense public feedback regarding OUR health, safety, and welfare. While the fight has been won, there is always a chance of appeal. However, at this time, we are relieved by the outcome. 

We would like to give a huge thanks to all who testified during the court case. A special shout-out to our expert witness: Kennedy Smith, Senior Researcher for the Institute for Local Self Reliance. Kennedy graciously testified on our behalf and was crucial.

Thank you all for staying engaged in this endeavor by sharing this petition, and calling/writing the appropriate individuals! Ultimately, we all came together as concerned citizens and that makes a HUGE impact, as it should!
