This date is less than 2 weeks away. It is extremely IMPORTANT that the public PACKS THE COURTROOM! Bring as many people with you as possible. “I am contacting the court to voice concerns about the Dollar General (DG) store on the corner of Hwy 22 W & Dutch Lane in Ponchatoula. The residents in this area would suffer negative impacts in relation to drainage, crime, traffic, local business, aesthetics, & more. Numerous articles, including from reputable organizations, support the negative impacts of saturating rural areas with DG stores. Please note that currently there are SIX DG stores within a 4-5 mile radius from this current proposed store location. I have signed a petition, along with more than 700 other concerned citizens, and we strongly OPPOSE another DG store along our beautiful Hwy 22.”
