Update from Drainage District Hearing on Feb. 15th: Many residents made their voices heard but not enough. The board reluctantly voted to approve the Dollar General project as the drainage requirements were met. However, commissioner Carlo Bruno encouraged residents to attend & voice concerns at the upcoming Planning Commission Hearing as this would be the proper venue to STOP DG & advocate for restrictions in Tangipahoa Parish. So what can you do now?

The residents in this area would suffer negative impacts in relation to drainage, crime, traffic, local business, aesthetics, & more. Since new development along Hwy 22 has been rapid, we also need ZONING in our parish to protect residential areas. Can I count on your commitment to OPPOSE construction of a new Dollar General store on Hwy 22 to alleviate any negative impacts for YOUR constituents in this area?”
