Thank you so much for signing this petition and showing you care about Tangipahoa Parish. Please continue to share and encourage others to take a stand with us by signing this petition. However, there is more to be done. Now it’s time to engage our decision makers! There are two important actions you can take to get out our message of opposition to this Dollar General project:

(2) ATTEND the Drainage District Hearing on FEBRUARY 15th (Wed) @ 5PM located at 48571 Hwy 51; Tickfaw, LA 70466. A picture of the building is shown  above.

Below is a script you can use when you call/email the drainage district OR you can just let them know how you feel in your own words. It is very important that at least one person from your household attends the meeting on Feb. 15th. There is strength in numbers, and WE NEED YOU to ACT!   

Your Phone/Email Message should be something like this:

“I am calling to ask The Drainage District board of commissioners to OPPOSE the proposed Dollar General store on the corner of Hwy 22 W & Dutch Lane in Ponchatoula. This area would suffer negative impacts in relation to drainage. Since new development along Hwy 22 W has been rapid, drainage is an issue for many residents. Can I count on your commitment to OPPOSE construction of a new Dollar General store on Hwy 22 to alleviate any drainage issues for the residents in this area?”
