Stop Digital Hate Against Ángela Aguilar

Stop Digital Hate Against Ángela Aguilar
The Issue
Hate and bullying on social media keeps getting worse every day. I'm mentally & emotionally affected by all the hateful comments, the aggressive & abusive messages, myself & thousands of people keep getting on a daily basis on digital platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, and everywhere else. That's why I can identify & understand the damage digital violence has caused to 21-year-old Ángela Aguilar for almost 2 years now. This type of verbal violence & abuse needs to stop.
Ángela Aguilar, a talented and beloved Mexican-American singer, has been a victim of relentless cyberbullying, hateful comments, and public sabotage at her events, awards, and concerts. This is not only an attack on her as an individual but also an indirect assault on her culture, her community, and everyone who supports her.
The internet should be a place of positivity and creativity, not a breeding ground for hate and hostility. It's crucial to remember that words have power. They can build up or tear down. Every hateful comment and every act of digital sabotage is a form of violence that deeply affects not just Ángela, but also her fans, many of whom are young and impressionable.
Statistics from Cyberbullying Research Center indicate that more than 36% of young people have been bullied online. This is a widespread issue that needs addressing globally. Allowing hate to spread unchecked fosters an environment where more people feel empowered to attack others with impunity.
We must act to make digital spaces safe for everyone. This involves social media platforms taking stronger actions against abusive users and implementing policies that foster inclusivity and respect. Supporters of Ángela Aguilar and advocates against online bullying should unite to demand these spaces are carefully monitored and hateful users are held accountable.
Let's stand together to ensure that the internet can be a safe space for Ángela Aguilar and everyone who dares to express themselves online without fear of hate and retribution. Please sign this petition to put an end to digital hate against Ángela Aguilar.
