Take Action to Protect Moorway Lane
Over 3,000 people have signed this petition, showing just how strongly our community values Moorway Lane and Derby’s Green Wedges. Thank you for standing up for our green spaces.
However, there have been fewer than 500 formal objections submitted to Derby City Council so far. When this application goes before the full planning committee (expected in May or June), it is formal objections that councillors must consider.
Please don’t rely on someone else to speak up. Your objection really does matter.

Stand With Us – National Day of Action
We also want to make a strong statement to 10 Downing Street: development should prioritise brownfield sites, not continue the loss of Green Wedges and vital green spaces.
That’s why we’re joining the National Day of Action for Nature, Parks and Green Spaces.
Protect Moorway Lane & Derby’s Green Wedges
Across Derby, valued green spaces like Moorway Lane and our Green Wedges are under threat from unnecessary development. These places are vital for wildlife, wellbeing and future generations — and once lost, they cannot be replaced.
Housing targets can be met without building on green space, by using brownfield land, bringing empty homes back into use and repurposing unused office buildings. That’s why our community is standing together for nature.
