Today, the End Frozen Pensions campaign and over-60s campaign group Silver Voices joined forces to launch a new petition calling on all UK political parties to commit to ending frozen pensions ahead of the next General Election.
It’s been four years since my petition was launched. Despite obtaining over 267,000 signatures and the issue being raised in Parliament on numerous occasions, the UK Government continues to deny over half a million British pensioners their full UK state pension because of where they live.
Since 2001, as a victim of this senseless policy, my mum has lost a total of £41,000. (Ironically, had she moved to the USA or Israel instead of Canada, she would be paid the full pension with annual increases.)
Despite multiple requests, the UK Government has also refused to engage with international governments to resolve the frozen pensions issue.
I would be grateful if you could all continue to help our half-million frozen pensioners by now signing the new petition here:
These frozen pensioners (many of whom are war veterans) paid their dues throughout their working lives. It’s high time the UK Government reviews this discriminatory policy and gives them the pension they deserve.
I can’t thank you enough for your continued support.
