Thank you so much for your support so far for my campaign to end the policy that denies Mum her full UK state pension. My mum is a World War Two veteran who served in all three-armed forces and worked in the UK until she was 76. When she moved to Canada to be closer to family she was punished with a ‘frozen’ state pension of £72.50 per week. I believe this is cruel and unfair and the UK should not treat their pensioners this way.

Now, the Canadian Government has provided an opportunity for the UK Government to fix this unjust situation and ensure the 150,000 UK pensioners in Canada, including Mum, have access to their full UK state pension. This offer of a reciprocal agreement is a chance for real change to the lives of Mum and every other UK pensioner living in Canada.
