Canada pays all their pensioners a full state pension wherever they live, but the UK refuses to pay my Mum, who served in all three-armed forces but moved to Canada to be close to family, the full UK state pension she paid into. A new inquiry by MPs and Peers in Westminster reveals that Canada, alongside Australia, has been calling on the UK to end this policy for years.

The inquiry also found that 1 in 2 of UK pensioners living on a ‘frozen’ pension receive £65 a week or less and that almost 90% had no idea their pension would be ‘frozen before they left the UK.
