"The NSW Reconstruction Authority is working to engage additional contractors to undertake demolitions as quickly as possible following ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred."

This is the first line of the update from the Reconstruction Authority today, via the Lismore App.

As usual, the authorities have ignored calls for dialogue, have ignored calls for alternative solutions, and instead plan to destroy these houses and plenty of others they've bought.

What can we do? 

Firstly Please, can you SMS this petition to 20 friends right now - this is the best way to get more signatures. We need more numbers - at the very least to demonstrate to local Councillor Big Rob, who launched a counter-petition, that his hateful, divisive view is not that of the majority. 

Secondly, we know what it takes to stop demolitions and change policy - bodies on the line. The demolition crews and NSW public works have been seen scouting the area and other areas of buyback houses this morning. They are probably getting ready to strike.  Please keep your eye out for email updates like this one - because we may make the call very soon and ask that you bring yourself peacefully to Pine St, or somewhere else, to defend these houses from unnecessary destruction.
