Ratoath village  (and Ashbourne) is subject to continuous noise pollution from 7:00 AM due to flights being routed over the village from the Dublin Airport North Runway. This constant noise is having a negative effect on local residence sleep and mental health.

Flights are passing over both Ashbourne and Ratoath with noise levels of up 75db and altitudes of 3000 ft. This will also affect the attractiveness of the area to live in and (devalue the area as a whole).

Some Facts and Figures:

From DAA #dublinairport directly in response to our queries..... 

• 1357 flights over Ratoath in April 2024
• March 2024: An average of 30.6 aircraft noise events per day were above 70 SEL dBA
•  April 2024: 60% of aircraft (814) noise events across the month were between 65-69.9 SEL dBA
•  April 2024: 23% (312) of aircraft noise events across the month were between 70-74.9 SEL dBA 
   

This is noise pollution and violates Environmental and planning conditions (Condition 1) given to Dublin Airport as per planning process.

It is also clear no planning was sought for the Noise Preferential Route over Ratoath given DAA claim IAA approved it, but IAA say they don't approve routes!!!
