My son is being forced into a toxic and abusive environment because the California Family Court has failed to protect him. Despite presenting documented evidence, the court ignored it and instead accepted the father’s false statements without any proof at all. This dismissal of truth has harmed my son and destroyed the trust families should have in the court system.

Even worse, the court removed wording from our custody order that gave my 13-year-old son the right to refuse visits when he felt unsafe. Taking away that safeguard silenced him and forced him into a harmful environment against his will.

This is not just our story—it is part of a larger problem. Too often, children are silenced, evidence from protective parents is disregarded, and unsupported claims are treated as fact. When falsehoods are rewarded and real evidence is ignored, the system is not protecting families—it is harming them.

My son has been left feeling unheard, unsafe, and forced into situations that cause him stress and fear. At just 13 years old, he has already lost faith in the very system that should protect him.

We demand urgent reform of the California Family Court system:

Children’s voices must be prioritized and respected.

Documented evidence of abuse, neglect, and noncompliance must be taken seriously.

Parents who ignore court orders must be held accountable, not rewarded.
False statements must never outweigh evidence.

Sadly, this is not an isolated case. Families across California face similar injustices where truth is ignored and children’s safety is overlooked. Family Court Services are meant to protect children, yet too often they enable harm.

The California Judicial Council must step in with accountability and oversight. Courts must be fair, transparent, and trained to protect children above all else. Statewide oversight can ensure decisions are consistent, evidence-based, and truly in a child’s best interest.
