I moved to Gedling because it promised a sense of community, safety, and stability. The prospect of turning 11 Shelford road, Gedling into a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) threatens to disrupt the delicate balance of our peaceful surroundings.

HMOs can bring a transient population with residents not as invested in the long-term well-being and upkeep of the neighborhood. This can lead to increased noise, waste management issues, parking congestion, and potentially, a rise in crime rates. Our neighborhood infrastructure is not prepared to handle the amplified needs and pressures that come with HMOs, which could lead to a decline in the quality of life for all residents.

In addition, property values may be negatively affected. Families seeking a stable environment to raise their children might be deterred, leading to a gradual decline in the community spirit we hold dear.
