The City of Mississauga, in partnership with the Region of Peel, is proposing the conversion of Employment Site 1 “Site 1” to allow for sensitive uses, including residential development. The Employment Sites Review project details are located at https://yoursay.mississauga.ca/esr

We, as concerned residents, strongly oppose the proposed conversion of Site 1 from a commercial/retail site to sensitive uses, including residential development. The opposition was evident at the Hope Church meeting on September 20, 2023. The concerns voiced by the residents include, but not limited to, potential retail displacement, alteration of neighborhood character and community cohesion, traffic and congestion, stress on community resources/infrastructure. 

Demand for Action: We urgently call for a halt to the proposed recommendation, conversion of Site 1 from an employment site to sensitive uses, including residential development.
