Here we are in September 2018 and it is still denied that there is a problem with contaminated air onboard aircraft. It is still denied that passengers and crew can suffer long-term health effects from exposure to toxic fumes onboard aircraft and it is still denied that ‘Aerotoxic Syndrome’ even exists. Some doctors (particularly those in the aviation sector) have even stated that the symptoms are brought on by ‘anxiety’, ‘hyperventilation’ or a ‘nocebo effect’ which is not only devastating and upsetting to those who have to deal with their illness on a daily basis and can no longer work, it is an insult to those who have lost family because of toxic air onboard.

The diversions and emergency landings because of Fume Events in aircraft are still happening and passengers and crew are still being taken to hospital emergency rooms (A&E).

The then Transport Minister Baroness Kramer said ‘Passengers had no automatic right to know whether they too might have suffered. She flatly rejected a call by the Countess of Mar in the House of Lords to force airlines to inform passengers whenever a Fume Event occurs’.

When will someone with some real ‘horsepower’ get a grip on this?
