The Issue

Greetings,

I am MJ, the artist behind MJ Cullinane, and I've poured my heart, soul, and countless hours into crafting tarot and oracle decks like the Crow Tarot, Wise Dog Tarot, and Guardian of the Night. Yet, to my dismay and outrage, the artwork from my decks has been brazenly stolen, now saturating platforms from Temu to Etsy. Thousands of these counterfeit versions have been sold, and guess what? Not a single penny reaches me, the rightful creator. Instead, these shameless thieves and the complicit platforms reap the rewards from my work.

The worst part is, I'm just one of MANY creators dealt this blow. Many of us watch in helpless frustration as our creations are hijacked and sold right under our noses.

Imagine a physical store openly selling counterfeit products—it would be promptly shut down due to the clear legal implications. Yet, astonishingly, major online marketplaces like Temu, Amazon, Wish, Etsy, eBay, and others continue to operate without consequences, allowing the theft and sale of artist creations.

These major online platforms, well-aware that they're peddling counterfeit goods, turn a blind eye simply because make money off the stolen art. It is against the law in the US to sell or buy counterfeit goods, yet every day that is happening on these websites. Let's unite and make it clear to giants like Etsy and Amazon—(we all know Temu doesn't give a damn)—that selling forgeries undermines artists who depend on their genuine work to pay the bills.

I urge you to stand with me in demanding accountability from these platforms. It's not just about the profits—they're compromising the very essence of artistic integrity.

Thank you!

MJ
