Today is Caravan to Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) from 3PM-5PM (start at RMC, leave for GSH at 3:30PM, Rally at Good Sam from 4PM-5PM).
Please join the Caravan and Rally to show your support for maintaining the Trauma, Comprehensive Stroke and STEMI programs at Regional Medical center , serving about 900000 lives. There should be no bargaining when issue is choice between life and death . We are not asking HCA to make new programs but to preserve what we have all ready in the community .
Lots of questions being asked why at GSH rally . GSH represents west side San Jose capmus of HCA. RMC represents east side San jose campus of HCA. HCA is the parent company of both hospitals. Medical resources and personel are prefrentially diverted from RMC to GSH on consistent basis. Equipement from RMC Operating rooms have been sent to GSH so that surgeons can't do elective surgeries at RMC. Neurosurgeons, pulmonologists , cardiothoracic surgeons are being forced to practice at GSH although their patients reside close to RMC due to lack of resources at operating rooms . Our CFO, neuroscience director , lots of nurses , hospitalists, unit clerks were moved to GSH prior or after announcement of closure/reduction of programs. STEMI program at RMC is preferentailly not given enough resources so that surgeons are unable to perform life saving surgeries. There is neglect and apathy to provide/maintain quality modern services at RMC while GSH is being projected as flsgship hospotal at expense of cutting services at RMC and diverting emergency resources to GSH . Today rally would be to express our resistance to forced migration of emergency/non mergency medical care /patients to 15 miles away campus of HCA, where it can be life and death situation for lots of patients especailly when every minute counts for Trauma, Stroke and heart attack programs.
