In the United States, there are only seven states that have banned a minor from being able to marry an adult. These states are New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania. That leaves 43 states where child marriage is still legal. The lack of federal response on this issue is alarming as well as the lack of response from the other 43 states.   

Children who are forced to marry and adult have no way out.  They have no divorce rights.  No way to file a protection order.  No ability to go to a domestic violence shelter. 

Marriage should be a choice and not forced on anyone.  

We are a group of MSW Students at Stockton University.  We are going to Washington, DC on April 18th to meet with politicians to discuss this issue.  Sign this petition to show your support for ending child marriage!  Lets make a difference and speak for the children who are not being allowed to speak for themselves.
