As you may know, the proposed stadium renovation for the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC has significant implications for our city. This proposal would give $650 million to fund the renovation of the privately owned Bank of America Stadium.
We want to go in-person to express our strong opposition to the $650,000,000 proposal. As concerned members of the community, we believe that these renovations and subsidies are not in the best interest of our city and sets a bad precedent that rich business owners can hold the city hostage and demand a queen's ransom to get whatever they want.
Why Your Attendance is Vital:
- Show Solidarity: A large turnout demonstrates to the council members that the community is united and deeply concerned about this issue. At the last meeting we were vastly outnumbered by interested parties, please come and make them see just how many people are opposed
- Voice Your Opinion: Speaking during the public comment period allows you to express why you oppose the renovation and how it will affect our city.
- Influence the Decision: Personal stories and passionate pleas can sway undecided council members and highlight the community’s perspective.
What You Can Do:
- Attend the Meeting: Your presence alone sends a powerful message. If you can, bring friends, family, and neighbors who share our concerns.
