UPDATE 11/12/2025: I can't even believe I'm writing this, but after fighting for months to STOP this tower. The older tower AT&T (2nd tower) located less than 150 ft. from our house is also getting a significant power upgrade!  Does this school district even care or hear our concerns?!!! Now more than ever we need your help to tell the district to STOP radiating our kids!!!!

STOP Verizon from putting up a cell tower 85 ft from a Family Residence that is also a Historic Home on the Lake Oswego designation list.

Verizon is moving forward with a cell tower at Lakeridge High School that would place antenna arrays just 85 feet from the Carter House, a designated historic landmark — and mere feet from a family home with five young children. The antennas will be installed at the same height as our families bedroom windows, creating constant visual intrusion and raising serious health and safety concerns.

To make matters worse, Lake Oswego’s preservation code heavily restricts the Carter House owners from making significant changes to their property to reduce the visual or RF impact — leaving them vulnerable, with few options for protection.

Multiple studies raise concerns about placing cell towers in close proximity of homes and schools, citing significantly higher health risks — including increased cancer rates. Many school districts choose not to have cell towers on district property for this reason. In 2024 a tower was removed from a school in California because 4 students and 3 teachers were diagnosed with cancer. Yet this project has moved forward without adequate public notice, transparency in school board meetings (approved outside of a public meeting), neighbor input, or proper evaluation of cumulative impacts on families and historic landmarks.
