Stop CDTA Summer Service Cuts

The Issue

Public transit is a lifeline for riders who depend on it. Cutting service during hot summer months sends the message that transit riders are second class citizens. College students are not the majority of bus riders and it does not make sense to cut service when ridership is at an all-time high.

CDTA has also not given the community the opportunity to provide feedback on how these cuts will affect them, violating their claimed commitment to listening to customers and incorporating their insight into the decision-making process.

Tell CDTA decision makers to Keep Albany Moving by preserving frequent service on important bus routes! Proposed service cuts listed below from CDTA's April Strategic and Operational Planning Committee meeting.

June Service Changes

22: Albany-Troy via Watervliet - Weekdays: 25% reduction in frequency from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes
12: Washington Avenue - Weekdays: 25% reduction in frequency from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes
114: Madison Ave / Washington Ave - Weekdays: 20% reduction in frequency from from every 20 to every 25 minutes
910: BusPlus Purple Line - Weekdays/Sat/Sun: 20% reduction in frequency
224: Albany-Troy via I-90 - Weekdays: 50% reduction in frequency from every 30 to every 45 minutes
