Hey Changers,
Thought you might find this interesting. It's a short, CBC doc on a curious, budding scientist and his adventure with cancer. Are you curious too? See below for links to a few good places to start..
http://www.cbc.ca/radio/campus/curiosity-killed-the-cancer-1.3995840
For the curious:
1- Data/Studies (read the research yourself): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed
2 - Risks and Side Effects: https://www.drugs.com/
3 - Asks: What dose of radiation is associated with this procedure/ “treatment”?
What drugs (names and doses) will be administered during this procedure?
Can I do the MRI without the (heavy metal) contrast dye?
Can I forgo prophylactic (just-in-case) drugs?
Do I have a *confirmed* diagnosis (i.e. lab results) that warrants taking the prescribed drug (e.g. antibiotics). See above.
What are my risks for cancer? Do your own homework on this one! Most docs will say "nothing" or "everything", neither of which is true. Think food, air, water, drugs, exposures (radiation, chemicals), lifestyle (stress, lack of sleep), substances (cigarettes, alcohol)...
Please share widely and invite friends and allies to join our call for true informed consent and a Universal Cancer Strategy. #CancerTaskForce
Plus,
Do you feel that your voice (and priorities) are represented in Parliament? Here's Vote Better's take on how electoral reform (and your MP) might help: https://www.votebetter.ca/
Best wishes for a Bright and Healthy 2017!
Niki
