Supermarkets are responsible for 10% of food waste in the entire world That is about 43 BILLION pounds of food annually!!!!!! And in the U.S we waste a whopping 16 billion pounds of food. One grocery store wastes an average of 468 pounds of food every single day. One country that has already started to combat food waste is France, In 2016 France passed a law to ban large supermarkets from throw away food that could be given away (unspoiled). A few months ago I contacted my local representative to ask what she could do to stop food waste. And now I advise you guys to do the same. We can make a difference together, let's make this movement be heard by our government.
