Dear Supporters,
Our petition with 2,690 signatures has been officially presented to the Victorian Parliament by Ann-Marie Hermans MP, a major milestone in our campaign.
This means our petition qualifies for a Parliamentary debate, expected for late September, a crucial opportunity to put our case directly to decision-makers.
The petition calls on Parliament to:
- Revoke the unilateral renaming of Berwick Springs Lake
- Implement proper community consultation for future naming decisions
- Investigate the flawed approval process
The debate could be the turning point in our campaign. The more signatures we have, the stronger our voice in Parliament - every signature on the online petition counts!
With 6,000 places across Victoria set for renaming, this issue isn't just about Berwick Springs Lake, it's about setting statewide precedent. The State Government used ministerial direction to bypass the required community consultation and forcibly rename Berwick Springs Lake. They created division, they destroyed heritage, they undermined democracy. No place is safe until this unilateral decision is reversed.

Your continued support brought us to Parliament. Now let's make sure our voice is heard loud and clear when the debate happens. We'll let you know the date of the debate once it is confirmed.
Together, we're fighting for democracy and community voice across Victoria.
