Recently there has been a new policy implemented at most high schools in the Beaverton district, I’m not sure if they have targeted middle schools too but I for one think this is not okay, sure there are students that use their cellular devices more than the rest, but that doesn’t mean we all should be punished; this is why I have decided to start this petition, many students believe it is unfair they are in forcing this rule, I get keeping it away in your backpack, but not pockets? It’s far easier to sneakily use it in your backpack, and I do have a feeling many students will be using their phones regardless of this rule, what if it’s for medical or an emergency? What if a lot of students get their phones taken away? That’s a lot of angry parents and tired staff, and what if they lose a phone, the school will be at fault, anyways sorry for typing so much, but I do think there could be changes to this policy, please sign this petition for a hope of a change in that policy, it might not work but if it does, then we know we did something. Please also note that they are more concerned about phones rather than school supplies, lunch schedules, and how the school year will go.
