Despite our attempts -- including reaching out to the front desk, leaving a voicemail with the entertainment department, and sending an email -- we have yet to receive a response from the Alameda County Fair regarding their practice of awarding live goldfish as prizes.

This issue remains unaddressed as they plan and promote the 2024 Alameda County Fair.

We did learn that Butler Amusements, Inc. is the company responsible for bringing games and entertainment to their event.

We strongly urge The Alameda County Fair to disallow the practice of giving goldfish as prizes at all future events. It is within their control to make clear that they do not want this activity taking place on their fairgrounds, and it should not be associated with the Alameda County Fair brand.
