Do you have a cat, or know a cat in the area around Dacre Historic & Esplanade Reserve?
How would it feel if you found them trapped inside a cage, being taken away to be "checked for signs or socialisation"?

The Auckland Council is setting out traps for five days each month from January to July 2024. Despite the claim that the cats will not be harmed by the traps, the letter we recieved also states that "any cats that are clearly unowned and unlikely to be socialised may be humanely euthanised"!
Otherwise known as "killing cats that don't look domesticated".

I love cats very much, and go for walks in my area almost every day. I also have a cat. Can you imagine how it would feel to see a cat in a trap, or even to hear about it? It's terrible- I would be absolutely horrified!
Luckily we do not live extremely close to the area where the traps are being set out, however we did still receive a letter about it.

Please help me stop this new programme by signing this petition, and be sure to microchip your cat if you live in this area!
