A private startup has launched a school security program using high-speed, armed drones — equipped with pepper ball guns, glass-shattering tips, and surveillance cameras. The company claims these drones can reach a “misbehaving student” in 15 seconds and fire pepper balls inside school buildings at up to 50 miles per hour.

This is not safety. This is a dystopian use of force against children.

The so-called “Campus Guardian Angel” system will allow remote operators, based in a national control center, to patrol school hallways in real time. These drones are programmed to track movement, respond to alerts, and launch instantly across campuses — yet there are no clear rules, no public oversight, and no evidence this will make students safer.

Instead of investing in counselors, mental health professionals, or conflict resolution programs, we are being sold militarized machines that treat kids like threats.

Parents, students, and educators were not consulted. No school district has publicly disclosed a partnership — and yet this program is being quietly pitched for implementation in schools across the country.

We demand an immediate halt to the rollout of armed school drones until full public hearings, student protections, and use-of-force policies are established and reviewed.

Children deserve to feel safe, not surveilled or shot at by flying robots. This is not how we build trust, safety, or a future worth protecting.
