Stop Anthem's Attack on Your Insurance Benefits & Get More Options for State Employees

The Issue

Problem:

Anthem Blue Cross / Blue Shield has a sole-source, state-wide contract to provide insurance for state employees, but they are cutting benefits… and state employees have no other insurance options.

Why is Anthem telling patients to go to facilities that do NOT have sub-specialists (who find cancer earlier), and also reimbursing "general radiologists" double what they offer to sub-specialists?

In Addition: Anthem is not honoring it's "Continuance of Care" requirements (Anthem is telling patients who are in the middle of treatment to go to non-specialized facilities that do not have experts)!

This Video Exposes the Truth:

I am not satisfied with Anthem's intentional activities which are:

  • Raising Healthcare Costs
  • Reducing Quality of Care (their actions will cost lives)
  • Mismanagement of State Funds

Anthem’s KY Management has ignored thousands of letters from patients (who are concerned about their healthcare)… and Anthem has continued to cut access to subspecialists and force them “out of network”.

This happened to Kentucky Breast Care (the first private 3D mammography clinic in the State, which offers sub-specialists services at lower costs than hospitals). KBC is my clinic of choice because KBC:

  • has the only breast fellowship-trained radiologist in our area;
  • has the most experience finding breast cancer in our region;

Other, non-qualified facilities often mis-manage patients, (a legal risk) and this was recently reported by NBC: https://www.somersetfamilyimaging.com/a1

Other insurance carriers understand outpatient subspecialists help everyone avoid overall medical costs, especially: “downstream” costs from avoided surgeries, treatments, hospitalizations, etc..

Solutions:

I want state employees to have more options for health insurance, either via Anthem or have options to use other insurance carriers!

Unless someone influences Anthem, they will continue to reduce KY State Employees’ benefits… while they simultaneously raise their profits. (They have already done this).

Healthcare is important to me and my family.  State Officials that protect my healthcare access will have a better chance at getting my vote.

SIGN THIS PETITION and tell KY Government Officials that you expect BETTER insurance options for our State Employees, who should not be stuck with one option (Anthem).
