A win for the Atlantic, but the Arctic still needs help.

We did it! Thanks to ocean advocates like you, the Atlantic is safe from offshore drilling.
Last week, President Obama removed the Atlantic Ocean from his five-year offshore drilling plan, protecting the U.S. East Coast from the deadly threat of offshore oil spills.
Thank you for signing the Oceana petition "Stop an Oil-Fueled Tragedy in the Arctic Ocean" on Change.org. The Atlantic wouldn’t be safe without ocean advocates like you.
Protecting the Atlantic from dangerous, dirty drilling is the culmination of years of grassroots campaigning. More than 100 East Coast municipalities, 100 members of Congress, 750 state and local elected officials, and 1,000 business interests have all publicly opposed offshore drilling and seismic airgun blasting.
But our work isn’t done yet. President Obama should also eliminate lease sales for drilling in the unforgiving Arctic Ocean. The push for offshore drilling in the Arctic puts unique and diverse ecosystems at risk and has already resulted in near disaster.
Add your name today to support our ongoing efforts to protect the Arctic Ocean from offshore drilling.
Be proud of what you helped accomplish. Together, we look forward to doing even more for our oceans.
For the oceans,
