I booked a family holiday for July 2023 using the Sun holiday codes. I looked through the website and choose to go to Pontins Southport. The website portrayed it as a fresh looking apartment with great facilities. I was in a rush to get something booked as I thought it would sell out fast so I went ahead after my research and was excited about my purchase. After telling a small select group of people I was going here for my summer holiday I was met by horror stories. For example, someone I know took her 2 little girls, upon arrival to the apartment she couldn’t let her girls come in as the floors were dirty from who ever stayed there before her and the duvet had faeces on it. Another example was from a complete stranger who sent me photos from her stay showing again how dirty her apartment was. 

After further research it was difficult to find many positive reviews. Clear photographs show the place is run down and unsafe. Electrical equipment with outdated safety check stickers are among many of my concerns about going here. I have been refused a refund after expressing my concerns, so I have decided to forfeit my holiday and instead do everything I can to get the place closed down, or bulldozed.

UK tax payers are being miss-led into booking holidays that are environmental hazards. Just last year the Government scrapped plans to house asylum seekers  here as it was rated inadequate by the regulator, ofsted.
