

Dear Petition Supporters,
Many of you were shocked and even offended by my last petition update seeing the latest Honey Birdette poster. It turns out that it was perfectly acceptable for a public audience including children, according to AdStandards!
Honey Birdette continues to show its larger-than-life porn-themed ads in our “family-friendly” suburban shopping centres, while Ad Standards continues its charade that self-regulation benefits us. To keep up the ruse, Ad Standards points to a report that compared its self-regulated complaints-handling system with a hypothetical government-regulated one. But it’s rubbish. Self-regulation is one of the very reasons this petition was necessary in the first place! The simple fact is, there are porn-style ads perpetually on display in our communities, and AdStandards are doing nothing except aiding and abetting it!
This fight isn’t over. Help me spread the word by sharing the petition with family and friends, and to your social media pages. 75,000 signatures is great. But let’s keep the pressure on Honey Birdette’s landlords and let them know we’re not going away.
