Hi all. Important update. Just as we reach the cusp of finally scrapping 'gay panic' - the Australian Christian Lobby have started lobbying to KEEP this homophobic defence for murder. I can’t believe it - parliament are due to vote on scrapping the law in a matter of weeks, we can’t let this stand. I need your help urging the QLD Opposition leader to commit to scrapping this homophobic defence for murder - email him here: clayfield@parliament.qld.gov.au The Christian Lobby's position that ending the 'gay panic' law would say 'it's okay to grope women' is shameful. It's morally and legally wrong - with law experts backing the change. QLD is one of only two states left with this law, showing just how outdated it is. But I'm worried the ACL's submission to parliament will derail the vote to scrap this homophobic law. We must ensure the LNP opposition leader Tim Nicholls backs this law change - and that means hearing from thousands of you this week before QLD parliament resumes and the bill comes to a vote.
