I’ve just seen news that a 13 yr old Brisbane boy has committed suicide after relentless homophobic bullying. This is tragic. Young people are being bullied and driven to suicide over their sexuality, but Premier Palaszczuk continues to delay scrapping the law that excuses the murder of a gay man. We need to turn to Deputy Premier Jackie Trad to back our calls. I’ll be calling Ms Trad’s office this today, pleading for her to get the Premier to axe “gay panic” in parliament next week. It would really help if you could do the same today: Phone - (07) 3719 7100 It is inexcusable for this “gay panic” defence to still be legal - it sends message that gay people are not safe or respected.
