Mise à jour sur la pétitionStop all charter flight deportations to Jamaica and other Commonwealth countriesWhat are the Home Office trying to hide regarding Windrush deportations?

Dear Supporters
I informed you in a recent update that the Home Office failed to respond to my FOI request about Windrush & other Commonwealth deportations on time & had responded saying they were considering public interest immunity as a reason not to answer some of my questions.
They gave themselves an extended deadline of 15th June, 2 months after my original request. They failed to reply by the deadline and I wrote to them again raising concerns and also raised a formal complaint with the Information Commissioners last week.
Astonishingly they have written today with a very vague response stating that the delay is now she to 'internal delays with our FOI process' and absolutely no update regarding the public interest immunity test outcome and now saying they will send a full response but with no indication of when. This is disgraceful.
In anticipation of them seeking to avoid answering my questions I served a second FOI request with a broader and more detailed set if questions in May. The deadline for this response is in a couple of days time.
I will keep you updated.
Please can you keep sharing the petition so we can keep the pressure up on the government to stop this inhumane treatment of people from Commonwealth countries who have spent the majority of their lives in the UK, working, paying taxes and raising families.
Many thanks
Zita
