Dear Supporter In April I served a Freedom of Information Request on the Home Office asking for details regarding deportations and forced removals to Commonwealth countries. The Home Office did not meet the original deadline and wrote to me in May citing potential public interest immunity as a reason not to answer done some of my questions and extending the deadline they would respond by, instead of just answering the other questions within the required deadline. I have attached an extract of the letter they sent which states they would write again by 15th June. The extended deadline has now passed and I still have not received a response to I have had to lodge a complaint with the ICO. In anticipation of this situation arising I served a second set if questions about deportation & detention and the Home Office are required to reply by 28th June. I will keep you updated on developments and would be grateful if you were to share my petition with our contacts. We need to hold the Goverment accountable for their actions and it is of public interest how many people have been detained and deported and how many more are planned. So please join me in expressing your disappointment in this failure to respond to my questions. Many Thanks Zita Zita Holbourne; National Chair BARAC UK
