The Issue

BEFORE MY MESSAGE QUICK SIDE NOTE : I’ve had some of you reach out to me wondering what is being done with the donations. This whole time me and my group of friends/activists have been very limited in my next steps because we have received NONE of the donations . Please donate to cashapp $SmileyFaced89 … we need more smiles in the city of Cleveland . Obviously as shown exactly right here , greedy companies and officials taking the POOR city of Cleveland’s community money . Not only that but our WATER too. Money sent to this cashapp which should come up under the name Ryan will be used to be able to physicalize our message ! Living near a massive data center is a daily risk due to their environmental impact on local communities. Data centers consume large amounts of water, a precious resource, threatening our neighborhoods' well-being. Their operations cause mass pollution, endangering the health of those living nearby.

We are concerned with the proposed AI data center construction at the iconic Cleveland IX Center. This site, situated by numerous neighborhoods, could immensely disrupt our community's dynamics and pose severe health hazards to residents. Transitioning the IX Center into a data facility leads to trading over 30,000 vendors for fewer than 300 workers, a decision that could cripple our local economy and spirit.

Data centers are not just about technology advancement; they come with noise pollution, increased traffic, and substantial energy consumption. We cannot ignore these challenges, especially when they directly affect our lives.

Moreover, the historical value of the Cleveland IX Center deserves consideration. It has been a symbol of local culture and prosperity, having hosted countless events that brought joy and togetherness. We risk losing this piece of our identity for a commercial venture that doesn't align with our values.

We urge decision-makers to reconsider this plan and seek alternative locations or solutions that won't inflict harm on our community or heritage. Let's preserve our local landmarks and environment for future generations.

Your support is crucial in standing against this inappropriate use of the IX Center. Let's voice our concerns and protect our community. Please sign this petition to stop the construction of the AI data center at the Cleveland IX Center.
