UPDATE**
My husband was set up by the correctional officers just days ago at this facility to be beaten and stabbed by other inmates. He was on the phone with me at the time that they were setting it all up and yelling about what they were going to do to him. They don’t care. They did nothing to stop it, of course because it was their doing to begin with. A sort of “gladiator” style entertainment for them. It has all since been reported to the appropriate authorities and under investigation but they now have my husband sitting in the “hole” as if it were him that did something wrong. My husband was prepared mentally for what they were going to do to him. Thankfully three people called it in to the facility and they had no choice but to stop it from happening unfortunately they have done nothing to the ones that were going to do it or had anything to do with it in any manner at all. Instead it’s my husband being punished for his life being at risk. This treatment and cruelty needs to stop. These officers have no regard whatsoever for human life. The cell they have him in is filthy, all of his belongings that he had in his cell were taken away including his food, towel, and hygiene necessities. It took 3 days for them to give him a blanket. And nothing else in a freezing cold cell. His entire 8th amendment right has been violated. 
The eighth amendment provides prisoners with limited rights of protection against cruel and unusual punishment during the course of confinement. These rights extend to the existence of humane living conditions, adequate medical care, and protection from violence by other inmates.
