We now have more signatures on this petition than were on any of the previous petitions; so a HUGE thank you to everyone!
It would be wonderful if we could get to the 2000 signatures mark to really show the depth of feeling within the community. Please continue to ask everyone you know to, both, sign and share this. Thank you so much.
We have been doing lots of things in the background to work on this cause too. Some highlights include:
1) A second newspaper report this week which can be found here:
2)We had a two hour meeting with Reading Councillors Matt Yeo and Jacopo Lanzoni. We relayed, not only, the community's depth of feeling on this matter, but also, the anger about the lack of action over the years. We have asked for explanations as to why central government grants have been used elsewhere in the borough, to improve pedestrian and cycle ways, but have not even been applied for in relation to this junction.
3) The charity Living Streets (formally the Pedestrian Association) have agreed to work with us in relation to this junction! https://www.livingstreets.org.uk/
Please keep sharing the petition and asking people to sign. It REALLY helps our cause to be able to show the depth of feeling.
Thank you all so much!
