Stop 882 Tile Flat road expansion

The Issue

Please Sign petition urging a "NO" VOTE ON ORDINANCE 882

Help protect farm land, wildlife, rural businesses in Washington County.

Ordinance 882 would build a new road extending Tile Flat road over prime farm land, (once farm land is gone, you can't bring it back)  thru forest land, creeks, beaver dams, and wildlife habitat. This undermines Oregon land use planning laws.

Ordinance 883 a continuation of the proposed road, was voted down less than a year ago. The proposed road is not needed, part of the land is not in the UGB, There is a main road "Scholls Ferry" that it will parallel. If passed it would probably become a cut thru road or unsafe speed way.

City of Tigard has stated they do not need this road, They have a extension of "Mountainside way" already in their plans.

The passage of Ordinance 882,

Would require amending Washington County's Transportation plan

Require 4 exceptions to Oregon's statewide planning goals

Cost over 50 million

Taxpayers would pay for a redundant road

Oregon's land use planning is the envy of almost every state. If you appreciate Oregon's Rural and Forest land you need to let our commissioners know they must work within the framework set up to preserve the farm lands and vote no on 882.

When I tell people I live in Oregon, they always comment on how beautiful and green it is, but if roads take out or forests, farms, and local rural businesses. Our beauty is also taken away.

Please sign our petition and protect our farm and forest lands

Thank you
